HISTORY 

As the successor to the legendary Aurelia, Lancia presented the Flaminia in Geneva in 1957 with an advanced transaxle concept. The Flaminia also quickly featured servo-assisted disc brakes all round and the excellent De Dion rear axle. Lancia allowed itself the luxury of offering various coupé versions by Pininfarina, Carrozzeria Touring and Zagato for the two-door variants. The touring version with its "Superleggera" aluminum body is reminiscent of the Maserati 3500. The Lancia Touring GT (=Gran Turismo) was aimed at the wealthy middle class, for whom a comparable Maserati or Ferrari GT was simply too expensive. Due to its aluminum cladding, the Touring Flaminia is very light (1350 kg curb weight) and achieved very astonishing values ​​at the time. The version with 3 carburetors and the high-revving 2.5 liter engine with 140 hp is particularly popular. This engine in conjunction with a very harmonious 5-speed gearbox has an easy time with this Lancia. Auto, Motor und Sport was enthusiastic about the Lancia Touring GT during a test in 1960 and counted it among the best standard sports cars. This Flaminia was manufactured in Milan by Carrozzeria Touring in 1961 , the car has benefited from a  restored in the past and very well maintained ever since. The bodywork is in good shape with nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. Of course the chassis is also very sound and rust-free. The paintwork is neat with only a few minor blemishes. The interior trim has recently been replaced with lovely brown leather and new carpets. The upholstery is therefore in excellent condition.Presented in a wonderfully cream colour over tan interior scheme, Italian registered, it would make a magnificent addition to any assembly of sought-after Italian classics, and a charismatic companion for weekend drives and car show visits.

La Flaminia venne presto dotata anche di freni a disco servoassistiti su tutte le ruote e dell'eccellente ponte posteriore De Dion. Lancia si è concessa il lusso di offrire diverse versioni coupé firmate Pininfarina, Carrozzeria Touring e Zagato per le varianti a due porte. La versione da turismo con la sua carrozzeria in alluminio "Superleggera" ricorda la Maserati 3500. La Lancia Touring GT (=Gran Turismo) era destinata alla ricca classe media, per la quale una Maserati o una Ferrari GT comparabili erano semplicemente troppo costose. Grazie al rivestimento in alluminio, la Touring Flaminia è molto leggera (1.350 kg di peso a vuoto) e raggiunge valori davvero sorprendenti per l'epoca. LA NOSTRA MACCHINA
Questa Flaminia è stata prodotta a Milano dalla Carrozzeria Touring nel 1961, l'auto ha beneficiato di un restauro in passato e da allora è stata mantenuta molto bene. La carrozzeria è in buone condizioni, con pannelli belli e sottili, correttamente allineati. Naturalmente anche il telaio è molto sano e privo di ruggine. La vernice è in ordine, con solo qualche piccolo diffetto. I rivestimenti interni sono stati recentemente sostituiti con una bella pelle marrone e nuova moquette. La tappezzeria è quindi in ottime condizioni. Presentata in un meraviglioso colore crema su interni marrone medio, immatricolata in Italia, sarebbe una magnifica aggiunta a qualsiasi collezioned di auto storiche italiane ricercate e una compagna carismatica per i viaggi del fine settimana e le visite ai saloni automobilistici.
